What happens after the programme’s 2-year plan?

The WMHTIA has been designed with a long-term vision in mind, bringing together a range of partners who have longstanding commitments to this area of innovation.

Beyond our initial 2-year timeline, we will continue fostering the region’s Health Tech sector.

So, from day one, our focus is set on attracting further investment to ensure sustainability in the West Midlands that nurtures growth for innovators long after the initial programme period.

What type of support is available to me?

Our approach is not limited to offering minimal, one-time support. We strive to engage in long-term development that will help you make significant progress towards commercialisation, implementation, and market uptake.

As a result, support programmes will vary on a case-by-case basis – subject to the identified needs and opportunities during your programme entry point.

Our consortium’s combined expertise will offer a wide array of support which will be subject to competitive resource allocation and tangible delivery of results.

My sector links with Health Tech – am I eligible to apply?

If your service or innovation solves a healthcare challenge – we want to hear about it!

A vital aspect to our programme’s success is leveraging the pre-existing strengths of the West Midlands. A model example is the region’s rich manufacturing history – which has established supply chains that offer the perfect opportunity for non-sector companies to pivot into the Health Tech industry.

Not sure whether you comply? Get in touch with us via wmhtia@contacts.bham.ac.uk

Will the programme offer a grant scheme?

Alongside our programme of support, we will also be running a secondary grant scheme competition for SMEs.

More details will follow but to reassure you – it’s not as uncompromising as a conventional 50% financial contribution.
