The WMHTIA £51k to £150k Grant Funding for Health Technologies is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) requiring funding to reach the next stage in their product or service development pathway. 

This is a two-stage application process: 
Stage 1 – Application Form Completion
Stage 2 – A live pitch (5 minutes) and interview with the WMHTIA Grants Committee

Only applicants who have been assessed by the WMHTIA Grants Committee as suitable for the award will be invited to the second stage of the application process.

Assessment Criteria

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria: 

• Healthcare need and health economic case and impact on the product or service users
• Project originality; new innovation or novel application in healthcare
• Project plan clear with attainable and measurable outcomes and a risk mitigation strategy
• Project team and management arrangements
• Intellectual Property (IP) & commercialisation strategy
